Carnivore Club
Overview & Mission
Carnivore Club is a gourmet food subscription service and e‑commerce platform that curates and delivers high-quality cured meats, jerky, charcuterie products, and specialty meat snacks to consumers. Originally starting as a “meat of the month” style club, it has expanded into a broader shop for artisanal charcuterie, gifts, and one‑time specialty orders.
The core idea is to provide meat enthusiasts (or “carnivores,” in their branding) access to premium, artisanal meat products often hard to find in conventional retail, with the convenience of direct-to-door delivery.
Carnivore Club emphasizes quality, discovery, and curation: sourcing from artisans around the world (or in Canada), highlighting flavor, provenance, and small-batch techniques. They also try to differentiate themselves by flexibility (no long-term commitments) and by offering non‑subscription “à la carte” purchases.
Product & Subscription Offerings
Subscription Boxes
One of the flagship offerings is a subscription box model, with different tiers or styles:
- Snack Box: Focuses on 4–6 meat snacks (jerky, meat sticks, biltong, etc.). These are shelf-stable (i.e. cured & sealed so they don’t require refrigeration during shipping).
- Classic Box: Contains more traditional charcuterie / premium cured meats — such as salamis, prosciuttos, bacon, etc.
- Complete / Charcuterie Board / Gift Boxes: Combines meats with complementary items (cheeses, crackers, spreads) for a full charcuterie board experience or gift set. s
Subscribers can choose frequency (monthly, every other month, quarterly) or opt for one-time purchases, giving flexibility.
Boxes are generally shipped during the first full week of the month following the order (so orders placed mid‑month will ship the next month).
Because many of the products are shelf-stable (cured, sealed), they don’t require ice packs or refrigeration in transit; though once delivered, the meats should be refrigerated once opened.
Membership / “Hunter” Program
Carnivore Club also offers a membership option called “Be a Hunter”.
- For $50 (or equivalent) per month, members receive access to the full member discount on meat deals and a guarantee of at least $50 worth of discounted meat each month.
- Members also get priority over non‑members for deals.
- Some flexibility is built in: you can buy more than $50 in a given month with the same discount, save unused credit for later, or put the account on hold.
- The company claims no commitment, no contract, no early termination fees.
This membership essentially gives a baseline purchasing “pledge” for each month in exchange for deeper discounts and preferential access.
One-Off & Retail Shop
Beyond subscriptions and membership deals, Carnivore Club operates a web shop where customers can purchase individual items, gift boxes, or curated collections à la carte.
They highlight collections such as Jamon (Spanish ham), jerky & snack sticks, and charcuterie & specialty items. In Canada especially, Carnivore Club positions itself as “more than subscriptions” — offering direct purchase of products, gifts, and limited editions to customers anywhere in Canada.
Geographic Reach & Logistics
Carnivore Club serves both Canada and the U.S. markets:
- In Canada, deliveries are done via Canada Post, CANPAR, and alternate shippers when needed (e.g. during postal strikes).
- In the U.S., shipping is handled via USPS, FedEx, and to APO/FPO addresses.
One limitation: fresh product delivery is constrained by having local “club chapters” or regions where they can reliably deliver fresh meat (not just cured). In these regions, customers may get access to fresh cuts (e.g. Wagyu, prime beef) in addition to the cured meat offerings.
However, in many areas, customers primarily receive cured / dried / shelf‑stable meats (jerky, salumi, etc.) because this travel better and are less dependent on cold-chain logistics. This would fit in a Carnivore Diet meal plan.
Customers outside regions with fresh meat delivery options will be limited to the cured / shelf-stable offerings.
