Fresh Prep has acquired Montreal based Cook it Recipes Incl, known as ‘Cook It’. They have consolidated last year in order to compete in a “challenging economic landscape” as they called it. There are no specifics or numbers published about the deal.
It is a great way for Fresh Prep, who is mainly active in Alberta and BC, to expand into Quebec and Ontario where Cook It owns most of their market share.
“Despite a challenging economic landscape in recent years, Fresh Prep has demonstrated consecutive year-over-year growth,” is what Fresh Prep published in the news “With robust operations and an industry-leading circular business model, Fresh Prep is well-positioned for national expansion.”
Becky Brauer, Co-CEO of Fresh Prep is extremely satisfied with the acquisition and calls it a ‘big step’ in their mission to supply Canadians with better food.
Acquiring an existing company is not an new thing for Fresh Prep, they have acquired the Vancouver grocery delivery company Peko in the past as well. [1]
